BMX Cruiser Bikes

BMX cruiser bikes are specifically designed for racing. In fact BMX stands for bicycle motocross bikes. The bikes are modeled after motocross rides used for short tracks. These bikes are perfect for jumps, tricks and dare devil stunts thus making them very popular to both the spectators and the riders. The BMX cruiser bicycles use 24-inch-diameter wheels. They are also very stylish thus making them very appealing to youth and young adults.

The bicycles are made in a variety of designs. The first design to be manufactured was a range 26" manufactured in the 1970s. The bike became very popular in the late seventies and early eighties. Currently the bikes are produced in ranges of 20" and 24", but the original model is still popular especially amongst older people who prefers and craves for the older memories.
Besides the youth and young adults, the BMX cruiser bikes are also popular with families. This is facilitated by the fact that the bikes comes in various designs. Hence an entire family can buy a set of the bikes with every member getting their appropriate bike design and size. These sets of bikes make truly memorable occasions for the whole family in races or in a family day out. The bikes are made in categories of; mini for kids aged between four and six, the junior for kids aged between six and nine years, the expert for teens aged between nine and thirteen and finally the pro which can be used by almost anyone else because it have full size frames. Thus BMX races for different age groups records big turnouts because participant of the different age groups finds their appropriate size of bikes.
Getting an appropriate BMX bike can be challenging, but with a clear understanding of the way the bike will be used, it ii easy to make a choice on the most appropriate bike. Most BMX bikes owners use them to ride in; skate parks, backyard, streets and on competitions. All these different uses have bikes which are more appropriate than others.

There are different types of BMX cruiser bikes. One of the models is the true BMX bike. This is a bike with controlled tires and lightweight frames. They are most suitable in dirt racing and riding in high speeds over short distances. Another model of the BMX cruiser is the freestyle bike. The bikes have a big frame and wheels which make them perfect for performing and learning tricks and stunts. The model also has both the front and rear brakes to maximize the safety of the rider especially when in high speeds. The other model of BMX cruisers is the jump bike. This is a combination of the true BMX and the freestyle cruiser. The bikes do not have front brakes and their wheels have 36 rugged 13-gauge spokes making them a good choice for slow riders and older people. The bike's strong frame and wheels makes it suitable for jumping ramps.
Thus, the different BMX cruiser bikes are a perfect choice for the various categories of riders and for different activities.
